Inside messages, use these first. They’re accessible and searchable.

Markdown or Unicode?

In messages, use Discord’s own markdown. It’s accessible, searchable and doesn’t count extra characters. Use Unicode styles for names and channel titles, where formatting isn’t available. Letter tiles (🇳 🇮 🇬 🇭 🇹) make eye-catching server names, but Discord may merge touching pairs into flags, so TextForge inserts an invisible separator between them.

Questions people ask

How do I get a fancy font in my Discord name?

Open User Settings → Profiles → Display Name (or Edit Server Profile for a nickname), paste a style from this page, and save. Keep it under 32 characters.

Can I use fancy fonts in Discord channel names?

Yes. Text channel names are lowercased and spaces become hyphens, so choose styles that look good in lowercase, like small caps or bold sans.
